Why Join UIC?

UIC member companies can test and certify their products and display the UPnP™ certification mark. When customers see the UPnP™ certification mark, they know those products are easy to install and configure. In addition, other organizations, such as DLNA, require UIC certification. Device certification is free.

Member benefits

As a UIC member, your company can:

• Use the UPnP™ test tool to test devices for certification.
• Get special UIC assistance in obtaining technical support from the test tool product support team.
• License the UPnP™ certification mark for display on certified products and associated product marketing collateral.
• Participate in UIC marketing events, such as trade shows and press releases.
• Participate in the Marketing Committee and influence the marketing direction of UIC.
• Receive information regarding plugfests sponsored by the UIC or UPnP™ Forum.
• Have access to UIC email reflectors and the UIC Web site Members Only area.
• List your company and certified devices on the UIC Web site.

Who Can Join UIC?

To be a UIC member, your company must:

• Be a UPnP™ Forum member.
• Execute the UIC Membership Agreement, which includes the certification mark and test license agreements.
• Pay annual UIC membership dues.

What Does it Cost to Join UIC?

The UIC has one membership fee for all prospective members, whether your company is a firm, partnership, corporation or government body.

Fees are USD $5,000 annually and apply for twelve (12) months from your registration date.

How Do We Apply for Membership?

To become a UIC member, your company must:

1. Be a UPnP™ Forum member. The application process and membership forms are available on the UPnP™ Forum membership page. UPnP™ Forum membership is free.
2. Sign the UPnP Implementers Corporation Membership, Certification Mark and Test License Agreement and Membership Application Form. Annual membership fees are USD $5000.
3. Read the UIC Bylaws, Articles of Incorporation and UPnP Device Certification Process documents. The Bylaws outline the UIC corporation rules. The UPnP™ Device Certification Process document defines the certification process requirements, organization, functions and policies.
